PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – The bill that will allow Oregonians to pump their own gas at stations around the state will move to the House floor after members of the House Committee on Emergency Management voted to advance it in a work session Thursday.
House Bill 2426 is a bipartisan bill with chief sponsors Rep. Shelly Boshart Davis, R-Albany; Rep. Julie Fahey, D-Eugene; Sen. Daniel Bonham, R-The Dalles; and Sen. Janeen Sollman, D-Hillsboro.

The number of salmon returning to Bristol Bay Alaska from the Pacific Ocean last year was higher than it’s been in at least 20 years. But the fish themselves are smaller. And that seems to be true for other salmon across the region. Science and nature writer Miranda Weiss talked to scientists and fishermen about why the fish might be getting smaller, and what impacts that will have in the Pacific Northwest.

Oregon leads US with highest voter turnout
Oregon had the highest voter turnout rate in the nation. Learn more here.
For the first time ever, Oregon had the highest voter turnout rate in the nation for last November’s elections.
Former Oregon Secretary of State Phil Keisling, who now leads a national effort to expand voting from home, said 61.5% of all the eligible citizens in Oregon cast a ballot, Oregon Public Broadcasting reported Thursday.
“We edged out Maine by .05%,” he said.
Keisling said Oregon has had a relatively high turnout rate since the state implemented its pioneering vote-by-mail system 25 years ago. He said the numbers have really ramped up…

SISTERS, Ore. (KTVZ) – The 2022 growing season has proven to be better than Seed to Table Executive Director Audrey Tehan hoped for.
“Wow! What an incredible season it’s been. With a combination of our greenhouse expansions, warm October weather, and our amazing farm team’s experiences we will be continuing the produce share through November 16th!” said Tehan. “We have 110 families in our produce share. They’ve received S2T produce for 30 weeks this year!”
