    BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) – Work begins this fall on the long-awaited Bend North Corridor project. This $121.9 million project aims to improve safety, mobility and accessibility while relieving congestion on the north end of town from Empire Avenue to just beyond Cooley Road on both U.S. Highways 20 and 97.

    Project features include;

    BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) — Deschutes County commissioners voted unanimously Wednesday to sell about seven acres along Simpson Avenue, near the OSU-Cascades campus, for $1.3 million to a partnership of Kôr Community Land Trust and Housing Works for a 110-home affordable housing project.

    The county issued a request and received several proposals for the county-owned land in the 19700 block of Simpson Avenue, north of the OSU-Cascades expansion area. It requested plans for a mix of affordable housing, defined as for those earning 60% of the area’s median income for renters and 80% of AMI for home buyers.

    BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) – Several improvements for northwest Bend’s water distribution system are on the way with the Awbrey Butte Waterline Improvement Project over the next few years, to replace and extend aging or too-small water pipelines serving the area.

    “It identifies some of the big items we need to address soon,” Senior Project Engineer Jake Sherman said Monday.
