REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) — The Redmond Airport will be welcoming larger planes this summer on some flights to its most popular destinations, according to airport Manager Zach Bass.
“Normally, we run a regional 76-seater, and what we’re hearing from our airlines, what we’re seeing for the next six months and over the summer, is upgrading to a 737-800, an Airbus A321,” Bass said Tuesday

REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) — Avelo Airlines on Friday began offering twice-a-week seasonal nonstop service to Palm Springs, California from Central Oregon’s Redmond Municipal Airport (RDM).
Avelo said it is the only airline at RDM offering nonstop service to Palm Springs. Very low, one-way fares between RDM and Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) starting at $39* are available at AveloAir.com.

Alaska Airlines is prepared to spend millions of dollars to help students attend an Oregon flight school, get their commercial pilot licenses and then get them flying planes for Horizon Air, its regional sister carrier.
The Seattle-based air group is partnering with the Hillsboro Aero Academy to launch the flight school program, which will offer training in either Hillsboro or Redmond. The airline will offer low-interest flight school loans, cover the cost of a commercial pilot license, then give the new pilots a job upon completing the program.
