The USA Climbing Sport and Speed Divisional Championships

The USA Climbing Sport and Speed Divisional Championships are being held here in Bend and will have 200 youth competitors (19 and under) competing over two days June 18 – 19. The climbers will be from Alaska, Washington and Oregon and this event serves as the qualifying event for the National Championships to be held in July in Atlanta, GA.
Seven Bend climbers have qualified and will be competing. There will also be some pretty legit youth climbers at the event including 16 year old Drew Ruana from Seattle who was national champion last year and has sent Just Do It (5.14c) out at Smith and recently established Smith’s hardest route, Assassin, with a proposed grade of 5.14
