Oregon Lightning Launches Community Halloween Costume Giveaway for Kids, Powered by TDS Communications and Central Oregon Daily News

Local families invited to donate costumes now through October 30th; free costume pick-up event set for October 30 at SCP Redmond Hotel

Redmond, Oregon — The Oregon Lightning, in partnership with TDS Communications and Central Oregon Daily News, announces a community-wide Halloween Costume Giveaway to ensure kids ages 2–17 have a fun, festive, and confident Halloween. The public is invited to donate new or gently used costumes at multiple drop-off locations throughout Central Oregon, with a free costume pick-up event scheduled for October 30 at the SCP Redmond Hotel.

With the support of two major community champions—TDS Communications and Central Oregon Daily News—the Oregon Lightning is mobilizing fans, families, and local businesses to help equip kids with costumes of all sizes and styles.

Event Details

  • What: Oregon Lightning Halloween Costume Giveaway (Ages 2–17)
  • Costume Pick-Up: Wednesday, October 30
  • Time: 5pm-8pm
  • Location: SCP Redmond Hotel, 521 SW 6th St, Redmond, OR
  • Cost: Free; first-come, first-served while supplies last
  • Donations Accepted: New or gently used costumes and accessories (clean and ready-to-wear)

  • Suggested items: Full costumes, masks, capes, wigs, face paint (unopened), costume accessories, and trick-or-treat bags.

How to Participate

  • Donate: Drop costumes at any designated location now through October 30th.
  • Spread the Word: Share the drive on social media using #squatchem and tag @AF1Lightning, @TDS, and @CentralOregonDaily.
  • Pick Up: Families can select costumes at the October 30 event. No purchase or registration required. Limited sizes and styles; early arrival recommended.
