Young Bend Author Publishes Book to Kickstart Your Summer
We are always stoked to support local people who stretch themselves to create something unique. Meet Zoe Falk, a young Bend author doing just that. You can learn more about Zoe HERE.
On June 21st, 24-year-old Zoe Falk, launched her first book, “The Adventure Guide to Living a Kickass Life.” She is not your average 24-year-old and has had enough life experience to share her guidance through this hybrid, memoir and self-help book.
This book is largely targeted toward young adult readers, from late teens to late 20s, but is still useful for all ages and backgrounds. Falk was a star athlete for Sisters High School and went on to run competitively at the D1 level at Northern Arizona University. Over a year at the high intensity of NCAA Division 1 Track and Field and Cross Country, Falk left her competitive career behind.
She describes her depression and anxiety with this massive change and how she was able to overcome it. Things changed once she made the decision to study abroad in Spain and live with an unfamiliar host family. There, she became fluent in Spanish and returned a couple years later to live and work there, post graduation. Just five days before her college graduation though, she experienced a heart-wrenching loss that was so traumatic and life altering.
The focus of this book is to help guide people through the obstacles of life, to see those dramatic turns as part of the adventure. Falk describes it as, “the 12 ingredients for embodying adventure.” For more information, please visit www.zoefalk.com/books or contact Zoe by emailing her directly: email@example.com.
