Snow fall totals over the last few weeks have created a deep snow pack and snow safety is important whether in resort or out. Fresh lines of deep powder can be so captivating that we want to charge down our favorite places in-resort and can forget that deep snow is something to be mindful of because of the false sense of safety when in-resort.

If there is one thing to remember it’s to ski with a buddy and stay in sight of each other. In advanced terrain like Mt. Bachelor’s backside and west bowls, backcountry practices like skiing one at a time and waiting for your buddy will keep you all safer and able to respond to an incident.
