Pull Weeds Along the Deschutes with Coalition For The Deschutes and National Forest Service

Posted on in categories Event , Travel & Adventure

Coalition For The Deschutes is organizing an event to pull invasive weeds along the Deschutes River in collaboration with the Deschutes National Forest. We’ll mostly be pulling knapweed and possibly some other invasives such as cheatgrass. With a small group of people spending two or three hours on the job, significant areas can be cleared and kept free of knapweed. And it’s fun and greatly appreciated!

When: Wednesday, June 16th
Time: 9:00 am – noon
Where: Along the Deschutes River Corridor, site TBD
(Don’t forget to bring your Forest Pass or other valid parking permit.)

It’s helpful to know how many people to expect, so please let us know if you plan to be there.

Please bring:
  • gardening gloves
  • weeding tools if you have them
  • snacks
  • water
Please wear clothes and footwear appropriate for the weather and the work.
