Ochoco Trail Strategy Group - Community Meeting

Hosted By: Discover Your Forest, Central Oregon Trail Alliance (COTA), the Prineville Chamber, and Oregon Equestrian Trails (OET). September 20th 6pm-8pm. More INFO HERE!
The Ochoco Trails Strategy Group has been developing the first draft of a trails plan for the Ochoco National Forest and wants your input. This meeting will be at the Prineville Library from 6 to 8 pm. It will be an open house so you can come and go as you like.
The Ochoco Trails Strategy group is an ad hoc group convened by the Prineville Chamber of Commerce and the Ochoco
National Forest. It includes representatives of COTA, Oregon Equestrian Trails, Back Country Horsemen, hikers, ranchers & the business community. The group aims to ensure all trail users have plenty of enjoyable and safe places to hike/ride in the Ochocos. The goal is to create a trails plan for the next 10-15 years — a plan that will help create more recreational opportunities for all non-motorized trail users, avoid overuse and trail conflicts, and preserve the character of this beautiful area.

The trails plan is truly in its infancy, and you have an opportunity (hopefully the first of many) to help shape it for the future.
