92/9 and BackyardBend welcome Kiss the Tiger March 26th to the Volcanic Theatre Pub. Kiss the Tiger is one of the hottest bands to come out of Minneapolis in years and are here to rattle your bones and bust you loose!

Fronted by the magnetic and disarming Meghan Kreidler, Kiss the Tiger doesn’t just play, they combust.  

Over the past few years, Kiss the Tiger has set the Twin Cities ablaze. In addition to headlining their own barn-burning shows, Kiss the Tiger have opened for prominent acts like Lake Street Dive, The Suburbs, Ike Reilly, Jackie Venson, Black Joe Lewis, and Daughtry. They have also brought their act on the road to open for Philly’s Low Cut Connie, Austin’s Emily Wolfe, and Bad Bad Hats. 

Meghan Kreidler is backed on stage by her longtime partner and creative foil, Michael Anderson on rhythm guitar; lead guitarist Bridger Fruth; bassist Paul DeLong, and drummer Jay DeHut. Their regional hits like the hard-knocking “Motel Room,” “I Miss You,” and their pleading anthem “Hold On to Love,” have become instantly recognizable to Twin Cities locals thanks to regular airplay on the critically acclaimed, 89.3 The Current. “Hold On to Love,” spent a whopping nine weeks at No. 1 on the Current’s Chart Show and was inducted into the Chart Show Hall of Fame. 

Kiss the Tiger’s latest album, Vicious Kid, is a tour de force; at times embodying the spirit of late ‘70s new wave punk, but also weaving in softer textures, like the crooning and feminist alt-country ballad “Grown Ass Woman”. Vicious Kid was named one of the Best Minnesota Albums of 2021 by the Minneapolis Star Tribune and highlighted by longtime critic Chris Riemenschneider as his personal favorite that year. Andrea Swensson, host of the Official Prince Podcast, predicts Kiss the Tiger are “poised to roar”. Their transcendent, heart-forward rock and roll is right on time.
