Fall Colors Hike, Metolius Preserve

Posted on in category Hiking

Are you looking to get out this weekend and enjoy fall colors? Sunday Oct 14th you can do just that with the Deschutes Land Trust hosted hike of the Metolius Preserve in Sisters. You may not have even heard of this preserved piece of land in Central Oregon. Maybe stop at the Sisters Bakery and a coffee on your way. The weekend weather looks perfect to be outside and enjoy fall. More info HERE!

Join the Deschutes Land Trust and David Miller for a fall colors hike at the Metolius Preserve. From ponderosa pine forest to lush creek-side corridors, the Metolius basin boasts a unique combination of wetter plants from the west side of the Cascades along with the drier eastern Cascade vegetation. We’ll explore this fascinating transition zone while enjoying golden bracken fern and larch and searching for scarlet vine maple.

Have a great weekend!
