  • Northwest and Summit Opening Today? Hopefully!!!

    Quick alert to the posting on the Mt. Bachelor conditions page. They are attempting to open Northwest and Summit today before the next storm system arrives this afternoon. Here’s what they had to say. Check the link in weather page for more info.

    “After yesterday’s opening of Cloudchaser and Outback lifts following the big weekend storm, we’re looking to expand the lift and terrain openings today with the addition of Northwest and Summit lifts. This is assuming the wind and visibility permit, of course. A brief survey mission yesterday revealed outstanding snow to ski or ride on Summit’s east & southeast flanks. From Healy Heights to Cow’s Face, the descent lines will be plenty. Again, let’s hope the weather allows…

    It looks like winter has returned with some significant snow and cold temps that should produce some of the best quality powder of the season.   • Congrats Tommy Ford!!!

    Bend’s Tommy Ford finished 20th  in the mens Giant Slalom at the Pyeongchang Winter Games!  2oth in the world at the Olympics. How awesome is that, really. He put it all out there and Bend is proud of our home town Olympians. Way to go Tommy!!!

    The tradition continues with the 19th annual WinterFest. Tonight will have the 10 Barrel Rail Jam, music by Downhill Ryder, Precious Byrd and Coolio.   • Mikaela Shiffrin GS Gold

    U.S. Olympic skier Mikaela Shiffrin captured gold in the first women’s race of the 2018 winter games and she is something to watch. If you have loved carving recently on Mt. Bachelor’s packed groomers you’ll appreciate her winning second run. She is going for it and we love to see that in Olympic skiing. She’ll try for a second gold in her specialty, the slalom tonight.
